So who is Mrs. Lisa McElwee?
Surprisingly, this is my twenty-second school year in education and my fifteenth year as a media coordinator (now I am called a Digital Literacy Coach- but I still love the name Media Coordinator!) ... I am a graduate of Mount Olive College (now Mount Olive University) where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in History. After teaching for seven years, I decided to go back to school to received my Master's in Library Science and as such, became the Media Coordinator (librarian, bookworm, techie, etc) that I am now. Last year, my title changed to Digital Literacy Coach- which means that we will be exploring the technology side more- and if you know me- this is just right for me! Technology is the only way we will be able to advance in use of research and education- so come to the Learning Commons and see what we will be learning... you might be surprised!
This is my fourth year in Edgecombe County- and I love it! I am so proud to be a South Edgecombe Dragon and love the students we have. Other than the approx. 380 kids we have here- I have my husband of eight years and my four furbabies (three kitties and one doggie). I love reading, technology, chocolate, Coke Zero- and learning more each day!
