Important Information about the Upcoming School Year

Good evening Dragon Families,

Now that August is upon us I wanted to reach out to share important information for the start of the school year.  First, let me welcome our 6th grade families to South Edgecombe.  We are excited to have you at SEMS and we are looking forward to a great school year!

School Communication
I send weekly updates to the student's e-mail account.  This will be accompanied with a ConnectEd call and posts to our social media sites.  I will always send a phone call informing parents of the content of the e-mail.  I have found this to be the most efficient way to communicate because I know that every student and their family can access the student e-mail account.  This also provides a great opportunity for families to have discussions about events happening at school.  I will admit that I did not send a ConnectEd call last week with the supply list e-mail because I didn't think anyone really wanted a call from the school in July.

ECPS Transportation Survey (Action item for all families)
Please complete the district transportation survey as soon as possible so we can avoid bus assignment delays for the upcoming school year. Answer the short questions in the survey below to share your student's transportation needs. If your student does not need bus transportation, please answer NO to the first question, and you will not be asked any further questions. If you answer Yes, you will receive additional questions. Please submit a separate response for each child.

Click this link for the ECPS Transportation Survey.  (ECPS needs a response for every student even if bus transportation is not needed.  Thanks for your support!)
